Bristol Harbour festival attracts record numbers

Bristol Harbour Festival attracted a "record" number of visitors last weekend, with some 250,000 on the way to enjoy the festivities.

JackBristol.com revealed that the event - now in its 40th year - has proved as popular as ever with not only local, but also with people from across the UK.

Such occasions not only cement the Cities reputation as a thriving arts community, but these events may encourage more people into contact with Bristol Lettings Agents, to enable them to rent in Bristol on a permanent basis, which would allow them to involve themselves in the culture on a full time basis.

Kevin Cox of Bristol lettings agents igloolets.com said “ It’s events like this that enable people to really see what Bristol is like, and see what a great place it is to live, not only that the event is free”

Spokesman for the event, Philippa Haynes believes the Harbour Festival is so popular, stating that "because it stays true to the fact that it's a celebration of Bristol and its culture. So many of the performers are local from within the city and the region, it's like an enormous great big community festival."

The festivities saw the thousands of visitors participate in the traditional water balloon throw, watch the acrobats professionals on stage and enjoy the live music taking place. The only thing that did not take place this year was the annual fireworks display - but it did not cause a decrease in the number of visitors, Haynes confirmed.
