In a recent survey carried out by the Royal Mail it transpired that the younger generation have moved and in lived in more houses than previous generations in their whole lifetimes, by the time they are 35.
On average 35 year olds have lived in at least 5 properties, while their parents have only averaged out at 4 and their grandparents only 3.
Almost 40% of the young people surveyed said they have lived in at least 6 properties often more. With one in 10 saying the number would exceed 10
Increased house prices and the requirement for flexibility have contributed to younger generations preferring to go between rental properties for longer than earlier generations
The results of the survey echo the findings of lettings agents, along with Landlords who have been reaping increased financial advantages from the changing trends.
Going through a letting agent is generally seen more popular than seeking accommodation through a private landlord, despite the additional expenses incurred
The survey was carried out by the royal mail to highlight the necessity to forward mail, to avoid identity theft, which is seen as a worrying trend by various groups.
